没想到尼布尔祷文和斯多葛主义有异曲同工之妙，很难不怀疑尼布尔读过后者，不过，这不是重点，关键还是这个最适用于现代社会的价值观，值得一再重复，尤其是每天有大量抉择的时代，能减少非常多的精神内耗。

美国神学家尼布尔的祷文：

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

「上帝，请赐予我平静，去接受我无法改变的。给予我勇气，去改变我能改变的，赐我智慧，分辨这两者的区别。」

斯多葛主义的导师爱比克泰德（Epictetus）的话：

“Make the best use of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens.”
